Well Happy Halloween!

From all the photos I have seen so far - it looks like everyone has had a Happy Halloween!  We did too!  I still have some Halloween Party and pumpkin patch photos to edit - but I thought I would do these first.

Our usual tradition is to get together with Alyson's cousins and trick-or-treat with them.  Well there was some miscomminication - and we ended up not really knowing where we would take Alyson.  She has a school parade at her daycare which gramma got to go to, and then I decided it would be a good idea to take her down to the block party they were having downtown. Let me also say that Alyson has been fighting off whatever flu's are out there.  She has had a low grade fever and a cough and just the not feeling well attitude so I even thought that trick-or-treating would be out.  But nope, she got herself off the couch and got dressed.  I didn't even attempt to brush her hair - I was going to fight that battle.  After Mike came we were off.

  Here she is walking excitingly looking forward to the candy she would get.

It was super fun and crowded - but she got some candy at every store!  Of course when she saw the face painting booth she wanted to get hers done.  There were like 10 people painting faces and we still had a wait.

 After paitning her face -we stopped and ate (she ate 2 hot dogs!!). She really had no interest in the games there or the jumpy houses and not even the petting zoo or horse rides (well we shielded her from that - it was getting late and I wanted her home to get some rest).

So we went to the neighborhood and got TONS of candy - love it when they pass out the full sized candy ----

This was her first house.  She was very shy and you could barely hear her say trick-or-treat.  But she did always say thank you.  I think she was so quiet because she is so sued to going with her cousins and they all do it at the same time -- and by yourself is a little scarier.  But she warmed up to it.

There were so many houses that I wanted to take a picture of her in front of - but night photography is not my strength - so let's just say they didn't come out.  But I did get a few.

And the last house we went to had these pretty orange lights... I made her put on her crown to try to cover the messy do -- and pose.

Awe poor thing she didn't feel so hot but just wanted to be a part of her favorite Holiday!

On our way back home I finally convinced her to stand in front of the balloon spiders they had - maybe it was the candy she had that made her so agreeable - LOL!

She kept on thanking me all night for a fun evening and that she loved it. Sigh my girl - love her so!  She is feeling a bit better today - but she will be staying home to make sure she is 100%.

Before I go I wanted to share with you some scrappy things I have been working on.  WIP kits has an amzing November kit and add ons that are absolutely beautiful --- look here.  Here is what I made using both the main kit AND the project kit.

We did some apple painting last month and the colors of the paper and what she was wearing were perfect!

These photos are from our pumpkin patch trip with my friend Monica --It was hilarious trying to get Daniel to look at the camera -- :)

This one didn't photograph too well - but I love these pics of the girls -- so fun and colorful!  Hard to believe that Lily is ony 2 right?

And this -- Trish put these metal decorative pieces in the kit - and let me tell you I LOVE THEM!  It was so fun and EASY to make my new Fall wall hanging just in time for Thanksgiving.

  I did a lot of inking on this and turned my photo sepia to add to the fall feel.

The leaves that I added were from a trip to Michael's last year - the glitter was already added.

Friday!

  Yippee!!  Halloween weekend - can't get better than that!  It has been unusually cold here and frankly I don't know how to deal with it - LOL!  One day it is in the mid 80's the next it is in the low 70's high 60's (don't laugh - that's cold weather here!).  My dilema comes when I get dressed -- but you know I pulled through this week - LOL!  Alyson even pulled out the new hat/mitten combo I just got her. 

She put the hat on backwards but there is a cute little sequined bow on the front.  And she is loving that the gloves also turn into mittens!

And because I have not shared anything scrappy in what seems like forever -- I have some scrappy assignments to share.

 I have some yummy Dream Street assignments to share.  For October we were to use the Supersition line - which oh so slightly vintage -- love it!  I created a layout and a card - I can't wait to scrap more with all the Halloween photos I will be sure to have!

I used some Core'dinations cardstock and a cute new embossing folder for the background!

And these phtos photographed a bit dark - but they are from last year at our Halloween Party.  It was a blast!

Halloween Time at Disneyland

  It has become a tradition now to head on over to Halloween Time over at Disney (California Adventure).  This year we headed on over with my good friend Monica and her son Daniel.  Here they are before leaving

I got quite a few of these and I am so glad because mr. Daniel  was not willing to stay still - LOL!

Yes, we have one Ariel and one Frankenstein...tooo cute;)

And Monica and I stopped right away so that we could try to take photos by the candy corn field -- didn't really get the candy corn - but a cute picture none the less.

We were so hot by the time we got in - the weather was part of it - but I think it was the walking and trying to get through the crowds.

We had such a fun time --- didn't actually get too much candy but the atmosphere is awesome - so we will be going again next year. 

Here are a few photos I took as we were leaving --- notice the Churro in Alyson's hand - heeee!

At the entrance there is a "photo spot" with a pumpkin and it was SO crowded when we got there - but as we were leaving it was open for us to use - YAY!

And of course we had to take a picture in the "A" - but rumor has it that it will be taken down - so I guess we better take advantage!

  And a close up - I probably should have taken the churro away - LOL!

It took us about 45 minutes to get to the car (not kidding) soooo the kiddos looked like this when we got home.

We had such a fun time - hope we can do it again next year!!

The Muddy Pumpkin Patch

  So like I said last week, we went on a field trip to a pumpkin patch and it was MUDDY!  I know many of you that don't live in california said that it was the norm for you - but not here.  And you know us californians are not us to "weather" so when "it" happens we get all thrown off - hee!

 The morning of the field trip I woke up and it was still raining pretty good - I was assuming that the field trip would be called off - but nope - it was still a go.  So we got all the kiddos bundled and onto the bus (and Alyson was very relieved to find that there were seat belts on the bus).

 At least when we got there this is what we saw...

isn't that pretty?  Muddy but pretty!

Before we left Alyson decided that her rain boots would be best to wear -- and she was right!  She had on a cozy sweatsuit her warm coat and her boots!

And here I was trudging my way around trying not to fall while taking pictures.  All the while my camera was getting wet from the rain!

They were all pretty good sized pumpkins and she had a hard time trying to find one that was perfect.  Her teacher said they could only get a pumkpin that they could carry.  That's a good plan if you ask me!

She found one and she carried it all the way back to the bus.

And of course I had to take a photo of what her feet looked like after.  And she actually ended up pretty clean compared to the others.

My UGGS are completely ruined (but I am due for a new pair) and Alyson went home to change and then ended her day all clean.

  It was a fun day and I am so glad I went.  I know this was a photo heavy post - but trying to get these moments down before I forget.  Thanks for stopping in!

  Well I didn't get to post much this week - but it has been really busy - don't I always say that?  But it has.  First, I signed Alyson up for Girl Scouts (she will be a Daisy) and I volunteered to be a leader, so there has been meetings to go to, etc.  I am excited about this, Alyson is most excited that I am going to be the leader, well co-leader.  I am lucky enough to be paired with someone - which is awesome to have to workload shared.

  And today (wednesday) Alyson had a field trip that Mike and I went on.  It was to the pumpkin patch and it was MUDDY!  I have some fun pics to show.  But she had fun!  I treasure these field trips, and yes I had to take a day off of work, but it is worth it to see the excitement in her face.  I work full-time as a teacher and I love my job, but in my heart I would love to be helping out in her classroom.  But that is not the way things have worked out.  SO I make sure to take those class trips, volunteer as much as I can and just be involved. 

  I had a cute little outfit planned but it didn't work out because of the rain - but that's fine - we will be hitting up our favorite patch this weekend.  She wore sweats and a cozy jacket - I already printed some out and did a layout - woohoo!  I used the new Mill Street Kit from Noel Mignon - I tell you this kit is gorgeous and jam packed with goodies!

3 posts in one week - woohoo

it's a record - lots to share and actually time to do it!  So here is a quick share of my September projects that I did for Dream Street.

It was my month for an altered project - and these are usually not my best scrappy things to do -- I always think of the obvious and not so much outside the box -- hehe!  But I decided to actually do something for my classroom.  I have a bunch of empty coffee cans that I use to hold markers, paint brushes(not that we have time to pain), but you get the idea.  So i decided to pretty one up.

I used the Urban ink line by Dana Miron.  A definite fun boy line.   

This is now happily in my classrrom and looks oh so cute -- i think I may need to change the rest too!  So much better than the "metal" look!

And a couple cards I made

 I used the Sam collection for these.

Think Pink!

  As you all know October is Breast Cancer Awareness month -- Shimmerz decided to do something a bit creative and have you along for the ride too!  You could some pretty pink Shimmerz!  And there will be 16 winners total - so give it a go!!  Here are the requirements:

*Sign up for the Shimmerz newsletter

*upload a Pink project using ANY pink
Shimmering Product they want into the Shimmerz Flickr page.

Seriously it is easy and such a fun way to participate in the BCA month!

Here is what I created -- I had a goal of using mostly pink on a layout and did it - even though I added some cream in there too!

 The background paper was plain American Crafts cardstock (white).  I sprayed some cotton candy pink on the 2 corners using little circles to leave white spots.  I then used Hottie Pink and Pink to shade in the circles.  The remaining white cardstock was sprayed with some baby's Breath Spritz and then I brushed over all of it with Gold Glimmer Blingz --- it is SOOOO shiny and I love how easy and fast this was - no really:)

Products Used: cardstock: American Crafts, pattern paper: making memories, stickers-wip kit october; embellisments all mm.
